Eric and I, as both Dragon and Nimbus riders, were lucky enough to join forces and create a co-branded goggle. It features the Nimbus clouds and logo applied to the Dragon DX frame. Check out this quick piece Eric made and make sure to grab a pair when they become available next fall…

During my last trip to Austria I had the very fortunate opportunity of seeing the Atomic factory, as well as, seeing and partaking in the building process of my ski (The Bent Chetler). It was a very cool and educational experience. Here are some pics that Martin took with my camera…

Hey Martin… You know how to turn that thing on?

Shaping the wood core.

Clamping on some layers.

Supervising…

Top sheets, edges, and side walls.

Laying the die-cuts in the base.

Grinding the edges.

Laying down the stamp of approval.

The filming for webisode 3 is under way. It has only taken until March, but we finally scored some sunny days and logged a bit of air time. It was Wiegand, Eric, and I out here in Cali, while Andy and Ike stayed up in the NW to shoot near Andy’s home, and Pep is taking a little time off to care for his knee. Unfortunately, the sun ended up baking the snow quite fast, so we are back on the net checking forecasts and on the hunt for new snow. I will keep you posted with the next destination…

Here are a couple pics I took out there.

Yesterday I had the very unfortunate and shocking phone call informing me about the death of Shane McConkey. Shane passed away due to a base jumping accident in the Italian Dolomites. I was one of many fortunate people that had the pleasure of knowing Shane, and he was truly an inspiration in my life, as well as the entire ski industry. My prayers and condolences go out to Shane’s wife and daughter as well as all his other family members and friends. Rest in Peace Shane. You will never be forgotten…
