Here are a few more photos that didn’t make it in the previous ‘En Route’ update (for those of you that missed it, read below this post), due to my time on the computer… But, I needed you all to see the Awesome inflatable set up at the Hilton, along with the new Nimbus Dragon goggle. In the 2 photos below, both Eric and I are rocking the new goggle, and you will be able to snag a pair this fall. We are stoked, hope you are too…

Nimbus Dragon goggle. Wooo.

Here’s another look at the gogg..

Eric and I battling it out.

Wiegand wins.. Most likely from a cheap shot.

He agrees…

Looks like the Filmer was getting a little to close to the action on the battle field…

Eric working on his ski action faces.. (If you are unfamiliar, look at his latest Powder cover).

Pep about to take a leap.

Levin on his way down…

                        Eric Pollard                                                                     Pep Fujas

For those who weren’t aware of our whereabouts, the crew just arrived home from trip number one, which took place in Hokkaido, Japan. We stayed at the Niseko Hilton, based our shushing at Higashiyama resort, and hit the slopes everyday with the best tour guide Japan has to offer; Clayton from The Black Diamond Lodge… He took us off the side of the roads, on his fleet of snowmobiles, and to all the secret spots around the resorts.

WELCOME TO JAPAN with Nimbus Independent!

The space ship… AKA The Hilton.

Future-ama…

Where most our adventures took place…

Our tour guide… Daddy from The Black Diamond Lodge…

Needless to say, the trip was epic! No delayed flights or lost bags, Japanese culture shock, heated toilet seats, booty blasters, exceptional food, sick accommodations, and deep powder. We skied everyday aside from one rainy day filled with sake and inflatable jousting wars, where Eric decided to take out the general manager with a face shot (not recommended if you want to be invited back). The sun only came out 2 days, with each other day being tits deep powder, pillows, and tree bonks. 12 days and 3 nights of skiing powder takes a toll on the body, but is certainly a great problem to have. Pollard was even quoted saying he couldn’t move once he arrived home, due to being so sore.

So, once again, make sure you mark your calendars and get ready for a new season of shredding with the Nimbus crew…

Here is a ton of photos courtesy of Erin Valverde Pollard…

The crew being all crew like…

The Japanese gang sign…

Chris Benchetler skiing, and writing in the third person… Weird. Deep snow… Not so weird.

Konichiwa… This is a long over due update from The Nimbus Crew. Needless to say, I’m here at the computer with words and photos.

For starters, we are over here in Japan filming for the first webisode of the new series ‘En Route.’ It’s been tits deep and epic… The whole crew is here; Mahre, Pollard, Pep, Myself, Ike, Wiegand, Erin, and our photographer for the trip, David Levin. I’ve been meaning to take photos of the features and conditions as they transpire, but it’s far too much hard work to break out the camera when you would (and should) rather be skiing. As for the webisode, it’s looking great. We’ve had air time, deep tree skiing, snowmobiles, and a day of sun. There is definitely no complaints coming from over here.

We are staying in Higashiyama at the Niseko Hilton, and being treated like kings… There is far too many buffets of breakfast and lunch to keep a healthy diet. In the days we are being toured around the island in lifted vans and on snowmobiles from Clayton at the Black Diamond Lodge. It’s been awesome. I’ve also noticed that it’s looking like we made the right choice by coming over. I keep my eye on the weather in the states, and it seems as though most places are hurting for new snow. Hopefully we can bring some back for you…

Anyways, the first webisode is going very well and should be jam packed with snow and powder piglets… It drops Feb. 15th on www.nimbusindependent.com

We will see you there, and of course I will do my best to continually bring you updates with the antics of Nimbus on here, as well as bnqt.com.

You can never have to many plane window views…

I was just reading up on the local news..

Baggage on the move…

The crew meets in Tokyo and gets the shot.

We made it.. Along with the snow.

That’s Happening!

Poppin collars..

Winner of the inflatable jousting match. NBD..

Tree skiing at it’s finest.

The Bent Chetlers up close and personal, and right at home in the deep snow…

We actually saw the sun! Crazy…

Birch trees and sunsets go well together.

This morning, Sunday Jan. 11th, I had a quick interview/appearance on Good Morning America (GMA). GMA came up to Mammoth to show it’s beauty, majestic surroundings, and what the town has to offer. They spoke with me to learn why I would choose to live in Mammoth versus all the other resort in the world. So, I told them; amazing park, great terrain/snow, fast chairs, predictable weather, and the list goes on…

The Mammoth piece is online here: http://abcnews.go.com/gma -I would have embedded it for easier viewing, but unfortunately I couldn’t figure out how.

I am now off to Japan to start the filming for our (Nimbus Independent) new webisodes. I will keep you posted both here and on bnqt.com with what transpires…
